Breeding Contract
This contract is for the breeding season of _____ made and entered into by and between _________________ ( owner of stallion) of ___________________________above address hereinafter designated “Stallion Owner” and ________________________(owner of mare) of __________________________, (hereinafter designated ( “owner of mare”)
This contract covers:
The stallion ________________________, registration # __________, whose service fee is $ __________, $________ of which is paid with this contract and the balance to be paid before the mare leaves the facilities of Fire n Iron Arabians and Paints. And the mare _________________________, registration # ___________, or description _________________________________________________________________________________.
The Mare Owner Agrees that:
Upon arrival, the mare will (a) be halter broken, (b) have shoes removed, (c) may be required to be accompanied by a negative coggins test, and a health certificate signed by a veterinarian, and (d) guarantees that the mare in question is healthy and in sound breeding condition.

Stallion owner will not be responsible for accident, disease, or death of the mare or to her foal (if foal at foot). Stallion owner may, at his/her discretion, have a Veterinarian (a) check and treat the mare for breeding condition or disease, and (b) treat her for parasites if needed, with the expense of such services charged to the owner of the mare’s account and paid before the mare leaves the farm or ranch.

The Owner of the mare will pay the following board for his/her mare at the time the mare is ready to leave the farm or ranch.
Feed and facilities $ _________ per day, or $__________ per month.

Should the mare prove barren, (if also proven breeding sound) or the foal die at birth, the mare owner will send notice of same within 5 days of such barren determination or death. Should he/she fail to deliver the above mare to the stallion owners premises on or before ______________(date), the stallion owner shall be under no further obligation with respect to any matter herein set forth.

This contract shall not be assigned or transferred. In the event the mare is sold, any remaining unpaid fee shall immediately become due and payable and no refund shall be due anyone under any circumstances.

The Stallion Owner Agrees that:
He/She will provide suitable facilities for the mare and will feed and care for her in a good husband like manner.

Mare owner will not be responsible for any disease, accident, injury or death to the stallion owner’s horses if he/she has provided all of the requirements aforementioned.
A live foal is guaranteed – meaning a foal that can stand up alone and nurse.

It is mutually agreed by both parties (stallion owner and mare owner) that this contract is not valid unless completed in full.
- Should the above named stallion die or become unfit for service or should the above mare die or become unfit to breed – this contract shall become null and void.
- Should the mare proven barren, or should the foal die at birth, with certification of the same provided to the stallion owner with in the time specified, the stallion owner has the option either to rebreed the mare the following year, or (b) refund the $_________ portion of the breeding fee, thereby cancelling this entire contract.
The mare will not receive more than _________ (number) covers during the breeding season and she will not be breed before __________ or after _____________.
